hi, 07 denali XL with 42K in so cal. recently wife couldn't restart the car at the school parking lot.... jumped it. i noticed the voltage used to be at 14V or slightly left of it usually but lately, it's at about 12.5 to 13V, btwn the two markers... BUT, it would sometimes go upto 14V again for a while then go back down again... i put the charger on so that we can at least use the truck but.... at this point, i can't figure whether it's alternator or battery.... the batt terminals are CLEAN, i haven't checked the fluid level and i can't see the green eye/not sure if it has one....'cause there is a large red plastic cover over the + side of the batt terminal ,where i think there may be an indicator 'eye'.... is it time to get a new batt? i mean, does bad batt behave like this as far as the volt meter is concerned? btw, 07 at 42K.... is alternator still covered? do we have 4yr 50K on this truck? pls advise, james R so calif 07 denali jjrho
