03 Yukon XL dash and driver computer stopped working. by miggs70

My dash recently stopped working. There are backlights, but the trip computer stopped coming on and the gauges also stopped working.
Sometimes you can drive down the road and the bell will ding and all the gauges and trip computer will come on out of nowhere.

I replaced all of the gauge driver motors about 9 months ago.

Somebody has suggested the ignition switch but I hate to shell out the money on a whim.

Any ideas? I tried searching but there are thousands of posts....

GM had issued a service bulletin covering this as 2001-2005 year models were experiencing dash cluster failure usually starting with the speedometer.

Erractic idle after battery discharged by fixitrod

Battery on my 2003 Yukon XL discharged while working on audio electronics. Charged up battery and starts no problem but the idle is erractic and surging. Is the PCM the problem or something else? Did something short out or am I in need of a reset of some kind. There are no DTC's just erractic idle. Any advice appreciated?

Try unplugging the battery for 15 minutes or so. Resetting the MAF will usually get rid of idle issues.

My 2003 YXL has very wet carpet in the passenger side front and rear. Noticed in rear 1st and thought my son had wasted something but this was beyond his damage level. Checked the front and it was also wet but to a lesser degree. Haynes says drain plug may be culprit and it looked like it was positioned in the up direction but why now after 2 summers am I getting problem. Read about a rear drian plug as well; additional cause?

Is it Coincedence that both are clogged up or is water draining front floor board to rear? Lots of rain in Metro Atl but Ac unit also not cooling to specs. Temp of compressor outlet colder not warmer tham evap inlet so I need to charge it up, check the rear blower drain (if thats what its' called) and dry the car and pad out. If the water returns where should I turn. Damaged evap? I hope I don't have to replace all this carpet and pad.....
Oh, btw. My owners manual calls for AC Delco 41-974 spark plugs and in Haynes manual they spec the 03 as using 41-985. Is the heat range the same and are they interchangable. Denso makes the iridium and to anyones knowledge are the AC Delcos iridium and do they have the same heat range?
