I prefer Honda 2000 ,
more exciting , high reving engine, and better design,
Mazda design is cotrovertial..some people may like it, but I'm not
..although: new one looks better than preious generation

I dunno; the Honda looked dated the day it came out and that was 10 years ago. The bin-part interior and buzzy engine didn't' help. And $30k+ for a Honda? I'll take the Mazda any day...

Doesn't matter, there weren't enough of you and Honda already announced it will kill the S2000.
I said this a long, long time ago - it was too expensive for a toy.
A roadster like this is best used as a 3rd vehicle, i.e. not a primary car. In those cases it's hard to justify spending $35k on a toy.
I'm shopping for new hardtop Miatas at $22k (no kidding) freight included. That's more like a realistic price tag on a toy.
Hence the Miata lives on, and yet another roadster goes to the grave.
RIP S2000. Your price tag killed you.

This may be the best part for me:
there's a new cupholder within the door pocket that doesn't foul your knees
The old one really annoyed me.
I like the headlights better, no longer the old pill shape, now more cats' eye. Dunno about the grille, though, I feel mixed about that.
The interior is a bit warmer, minus the piano black trim (too dark with the current black interior).
Love that raspberry chocolate leather interior color. Gorgeous. I'm not even looking at the Recaros.

Can someone clarify if the updates mentioned in this article apply to the model that is soon to be released in the US, or to a model being released next year? One reason I ask is the late release of the models in the US has led many to believe this will be marketed as a 2010 car. Plus the "facelift" and most other changes mentioned in this article were also mentioned in the October article referencing this years car.
So, I'm just a bit confused... I like the updated version of this car VERY much, especially the tuned suspension. If those changes aren't on the soon-to-be-released version, I would probably order different options... Will the improvements mentioned be in this years model or next?

These appear on the 2009 model.
The 2009 came out sort of late, in fact dealers have plenty of 2008s left, and they are being discounted heavily.
I may buy one of those left over 2008s tonight. The discount was too hard to resist.
A year ago the hard tops were $25k and up, I'm looking at under $21k! Swee-eeeet!
I'll have to deal with that bottle holder in the door, maybe pad it somehow if it keeps bothering me.
