Scion XB price increase? by mattt19

I'm in the market to buy a new car and am looking at the XB. Edmunds list the MSRP of the XB (automatic) as $16,700. The Scion site list the MSRP as $17,370. Has Toyota increased the price since the introduction of the 2009 model?

I used Edmunds to receive quotes on the cost of the car. So far I've received one quote, for $18,759 (XB with automatic and the security package). This does not include tax, license or document fees. This price is almost a $1,000 more than the price listed on Edmunds. Is this what others are paying for this car (I'm in Los Angeles)? What about document fees? I've looked at Hondas, Fords and Toyotas and no one else is charging a fee for this. Is this unique to Scion.

Thanks for any feedback

If you add in the destination charge of $670.00 it comes out to $17,370 and if you add the security package MSRP should be $17,839.00 so it sounds like it either has other added options or some other sort of fees causing that figure to be so much higher.
