#1 of 2 Lincoln LS steering column by jmdoerr12

I have a 2004 Lincoln LS and just recently it began honking its horn for no reason. When you shut the car off, the seat automatically slides back for ease of entry and exit. Also the steering wheel tilts up for the same reason, and at some point during this process the steering wheel gets caught and begins jerking up and down, and the horn begins to honk. It's really annoying. I found that if I hold up on the steering wheel it will stop honking. Also if the problem persists while driving I can tilt the wheel up and sometimes it stops the honking.

Please does anyone know what my ploblem is? Do I need a new tilt switch or is it something else?

#2 of 2 2004 Lincoln Transmission by jmdoerr12

My 2004 LS has a persistant problem with shifting. It will not show symptoms on every acceleration. But mostly when you are pushing it moderately or hard while merging or passing. It acts like a small hesitation, like you push the pedal down and the car has to think for a second whether or not it's going to accelerate or not. I don't know if it is the transmission or if it is some type of electronic issue with the compuer.

If anyone has any ideas or simple methods of checking the transmission without having to jack the entire car up and sticking my finger into the transmission to check if there is still fluid?
