1998 Chrysler Concorde Probs - check engine light by AFBaby

Hello,

I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have a 1998 Chrysler Concorde, I believe it is a 2.7 L engine. I bought it used. Couple months after we bought it would misfire and the check engine light would come on. The code it read out was misfire cam senor or crank shaft senor. My dad replaced both senors and nothing really changed. He then found a cut wire leading to the crank shaft and welded it back together which helped some. It always came on around 35 mph and was especially bad when driven for about 2 hours and when it rained and was damp. Finally it got pretty bad and was quitting on me so I took it to the dealer who replaced the cam shaft sensor connector ( and yes I don't really know what I'm talking about...just relaying what my dad has told me). Its been fine since.

About a week later I'm driving on the interstate going about 70. I'd been using my cruise control, took it off to exit and then put it back on. Suddenly my check engine light starts flashing. It flashed about 10 times then went off. So I took off the cruise again. About 2 minutes later it did it again..only flashed about 5 times. It would do it in ~ 2 minutes intervals, then stop of for about 20 minutes, then flashes 10 times, then not flash then flash every 2 minutes.

I had to sit still for about 1.5 hours because of a wreck on the highway..it didn't come on at all and then when I drove again it was fine.

The car wasn't misfiring, nothing was abnormal. Before we took it to the dealer the light would come on it would stay (and would "ding" when it came on) on when it misfired and it was jerky and such. That is fine now. But it's not doing anything besides flashing a little now.

My dad's a car guy but he looked in my repair book theres nothing about a flashing check engine light. So is it a short? because it almost acts like it. I'm going to try to get the codes read tomorrow.

Sorry this is long and thanks for your help! I need this car to last!
