Novice needs advice: should i get an FJ60? by autiger03

I'm looking at purchasing an early to mid 1980s LC FJ60 but have never done more than change a battery or oil in a car. I won't mind doing some maintenance, but don't want an 'every weekend' car repair. What do I need to know and am I jumping into something I'm going to seriously regret?

Suggest you do a web search for FJ 60s and find discussion boards for that model. Keep in mind you're talking about a vehicle that'll be 20+ years old. You may find one that's in good shape and that's been thoroughly re-conditioned or well maintained.

Think brakes, birfields etc If in need of repair can be pricey for the birfields especially
