I have a 1993 nissan 300zx automatic, convertible. Speedometer does not work, tranny does not shift until the rpm's hits over 3500 plus. I had to keep the idle high, 1300 rpms, so the car would not shut off, specially when it's cold or when put on drive. I tried a new speed sensor, idle control valve, also i changed the computer that controls the tranny and it made no difference, I also checked the dashboard/speedometer connectors and they all seem to be ok. When the car is hot, and I start it up the AT check blinks 15-16 times. The check engine and brake light stays on. I'm not a mechanic but I checked the basics. If you have any ideas or suggestion, please let me know. |

Mine is 94 automatic. I just found speedometer didn't work just after oil change (Sears). To me it goes nothing with oil change but asked the mechanic to lift her to see anythnig disconnected. Speed sensor seemed to be untouched. Nothing was wrong. Like the guy above, connectors, fuses under the dashboard were checked too and looked normal. What the hack... rpm, odometer, temp, oil press. and tranny. everything is fine. The only thing I am gonna do is to change speed sensor before dropping her at the dealer (or place cost less). Any comments will be appreciated. |
