My son has a 2001 Chevrolet Impala with 25,000 miles on it. He recently had his oil and filter changed and was told there was sludge on his oil filler cap, indicating an oil sludge problem in his engine. Is this diagnosis a real one or not? Replying to: reblu330 (Jan 03, 2009 4:11 pm) Did you see the sludge? Was it a thick dark goo or like a coffee milkshake? 25,000 miles seems too low for a 2001. Was it sitting for a long time?
