Replying to: tenmore (Jan 07, 2009 6:05 pm) Sure, on one side of the sensor (inside the engine), it's having the oil squirt on it so it can sense the pressure of the oil. On the outside of the engine, it has electrical connections, to send that info up to the gauges and computer. I guess as an analogy, you could think of a room full of people wanting to get out, and a big guy bouncer on the outside of the door holding the front door shut. He can tell by holding the door, that there is either one person pushing on the door (low pressure), or 10 people pushing on the door to get out (high pressure). If he gets weak and lets go of the door and the door opens, then the people come out (and the oil is able to leak out).
