2002 Tahoe that will not stay on

I am hoping that someone can please help me. The Engine will turn over but within a few seconds it is spitting and sputtering and then dies. Yes I have gas in my car (the question my husband asked me We replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump is still good. There doesn't seem to be any leaks either. Does anyone have any other ideas PLEASE? I don't have the money to take it to a dealership.
