Replying to: bodble2 (Jan 23, 2009 5:33 pm) I think just based off of their pricing structure, the Venza may be the modern day version of the RAV4, with Crossovers being somewhat of the "new Jeeps" of this era. |

Replying to: bodble2 (Jan 23, 2009 5:33 pm) I think people who look at the RAV4, versus a Highlander or Venza (which are almost identical in length and width), are doing so because they see the RAV4 as a physically smaller vehicle. If you aligned each Toyota car model with an associated CUV, it'd look like this: There is pricing overlap between all three CUVs, the same way a Corolla XRS can be more expensive than a Camry LE, or a Camry XLE is more expensive than an Avalon XL. Similar comparisons can be made within the Ford lineup (Taurus -> Edge) and Nissan lineup (Maxima -> Murano) as well.

Although they share the same platform, the Avalon is marketed at a different target than the Camry. Same thing with the Venza versus the Highlander -- same platform, different targets. |

I test drove an Edge Limited, a Nissan Murano SL AWD, and a Toyota Venza FWD V6. Each vehicle had its pros and cons, but one thing was definitely noticeable with the Venza than the other vehicles, fit/finish/price. The quality of leather in the Venza was far superior to the Edge. The Venza was much bigger than the Murano, and options/price for the Venza was a better deal than either vehicle. On terms of quietness, it was a toss up between the Murano & Venza, but I guess I finally decided on Toyota's reputation and resale value over the other vehicles. See for yourself, the Venza is a head turner and a conversation piece!! Test Drive one soon!

Replying to: pacpark4 (Mar 22, 2009 9:06 pm) However, the gas mileage is attractive to the loaded RAV4 shopper. The lease deals are not great and sadly, this iced it for me. Got $5K off list on a 2009 Murano LE and good combination of residual and money factor. Otherwise, it would have been a Venza. Toyota leather is a notch above and they still do interior dash in a stylish classic manner better than the rest. On interiors, I feel Honda is too "out there", Nissan a bit reserved stingy and Ford - well they are trying but have a long way to go. My last comment is strictly an aesthetic one. The difficulty in getting a lot of color combinations also drove the decision. I'm not a big fan of all these two tone (and sometimes three) on the light interiors. I don't know if that's a Toyota manufacturing decision or the dealer's. Supposedly, there is a Sport edition of the Venza starting to arrive but no leather option. If this existed, I would have potentially been worth the stretch. Frankly, I think if you are leasing, it's hard to go wrong with a great deal on any of these vehicles. I just wouldn't want to be driving a Ford after 80K of hard driving. Good luck.
