Replying to: Sprink (Dec 27, 2008 4:57 pm) Not sure about the LX, but on my 2006 EX there is a switch a between the two maplights (on/off). In the "on" position they come on when the door is opened or the remote is used. In the "off" position only the main overhead light comes on. I am not positive, but I think that this may only be a feature on EX/SI models. Same for the ambient console lighting. Hope that was helpful.

Looked and can't find that switch in my LX...wish it did have it though. Would like the extra light that it would provide. Next time, I'll just have to spring for the higher level Civic...hopefully that won't be till the 2014 model if the car gods and goddess's are kind to me! The Sandman
