My 2002 626 keeps overheating....someone advised to check the heater core. But I can't seem to find anything online showing a heater core. I am new to all this so please can someone tell me if I'm calling the part by the wrong name.

I have a 93 626. For some unknown reason it has just started to overheat when i turn on the heater on over the setting one. I can put the car in neutral and rev the engine up a little and the heat will go back down for a while then spike back up. I have never seen this before. I always thought that when you turn the heater on the heat goes down. That is what it does on my old ford pickup. Is there something i could be overlooking I have checked the thermostat the radiator is brand new. the heater works fine. I am at a loss for thoughts. If some one has delt with this problem before please help me out. I am tired of pulling over every time this happens. I look like a fool with the flashers on then off ten seconds later. What a way to drive!
