Just like a heavy foot will kill your mileage, it looks like a heavy foot will have a larger effect on the range of an electirc vehicle. Still, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet. And electric vehicles are still fairly "experimental" at this point, even stuffed into the skin of a Mini.
