I predict that Kia makes a profit again in 2009.

...what 2009 will be like, but I can tell you 2010 will be an extremely boring new car show season consisting of Toyota, Honda, maybe Nissan, and a smattering of 2nd and 3rd tier imports. I'll be staying home for the first time in 21 years.

Hey, don't forget the 2011 Fiesta.

You're just pouting from having to import a Chery Buick.

The only "cherry" Buick I'll be driving is my 1988 Park Avenue restored to Pebble Beach Concours standards. I'd rather pour all my money into restoring my old Park Ave than purchase any import.

Better not buy any new Buicks without checking the Moroney sticker then.

Chrysler will fold, no matter how much cash the government piles in.
GM will teeter around bankruptcy, and may go through a pre-packaged one, but will emerge restructured and in ok shape.
Ford should still be around, unless their huge debt load comes back to haunt them in the later years. But I doubt they'll ask for a government bailout because of the Ford family influence.
Honda will emerge as a more profitable automaker than Toyota, who over expanded too quickly in the United States at the expense of quality and resale values.

Hyundai/Kia will continue to grow as they siphon off sales from the Big 6 (Honda, Nissan, Toyota, GM, Chrysler, Ford)
