The xD is based on the Yaris platform. I test drove both vehicles and bought the xD. The Yaris 1.5 ltr. motor will deliver better fuel economy,but,I prefer the extra performance of the 1.8 in the xD(caveat)<> the xD<> has the same fuel capacity as the Yaris(11.1 gallons): I think it needs the 13.2 gallon fuel tank from the Corolla/Matrix. I am averaging around 34 MPG's with my xD in W. Ky." hill country" +much stop and go downtown traffic. I also have the 4 speed AT. My only "complaints" are the relatively small fuel tank+Scion/Toyota does not offer a foglight kit for the xD:the Yaris 5 Dr. Liftback S has the rear spoiler and a front spoiler with foglights as a standard feature. The xD has cruise control as standard and the Yaris LB offers this feature as an option .I hope this of some benefit to you and helps in your purchasing decision.

Looking for a scion xD in SF Bay Area. Are sales still down? Anyone get less than sticker price? thanks
