OK, I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7, it had overheated and blew a head gasket. I tore down the motor, had the heads milled as they were warped .015. I am now putting it back together, I have the heads back on but I forgot to bring it up on TDC Exhaust stroke before I tore it down. I didnt want to have to tear down the front of the motor, is there anyway to tell which TDC is the Ehaust stroke? When I do heads on these I just pull the gears off the cam and tie them off. I was going to crank it with a compression gauge to find the TDC, but I didnt know with the cams not moving, when they are stationary if it will hit?

bad news you have to take the front apart these heads are zero clearance heads and if you rotate the engine with timing chains off will bend valves
