I bought a brand new Uplander just yesterday so felt it would be a good idea to join a forum for future help if required . Hope its a good vehicle . So far I really like it and have put on about 120 miles already. I will browse through some of the threads here and get used to the site. Regards. W.Y.

Thanks for the reply. I actually joined a couple more Uplander forums and they are all very quiet. Yes I have heard excellent reports and I have heard some horror stories. Sometimes it has a lot to do with how a person treats their vehicle. I have read about all the warped rotors and brake issues with the earlier ones . Don't know if the earlier ones had disc brakes all around or not but the 07 and 08 do . They also have 6 wheel bolts now and 17" rims/tires . I pulled my front wheels off yesterday to install mudflaps and my gosh, with the size and thickness or those rotors , I would guess that the brake issues will no longer exist. While doing that , I noticed that the wheel nuts were unevenly torqued so I torqued the front ones when I put the wheels back on and then checked the back ones and they were also uneven so I put them all at 100 PSI . So much for pre-delivery checks that a person pays for . They are roughed in quickly at the factory with air wrenches but the dealers never check them before delivery. They just check things like that off on their check list and make out they have done it. Proper torquing of wheel nuts on any vehicle is is imperative for the life of the braking system . W.Y. |
