You nailed it on the Windstall.

Upgrade from a Caliber? There isn't a vehicle being made that would be a downgrade from a Caliber!

My Nomination... by jchan2

for worst car(s) goes to the following:

Dodge Nitro- why bother? You lose the 4WD capabilities of the Jeep Liberty, but gain horrid reliability, gas mileage, a cramped interior, terrible fit and finish, and when the only thing you can advertise is MyGig, you know the car has issues.

Jeep Compass/Patriot I can understand the Caliber somewhat (rental fleets do need compacts) but the Compass and Patriot are Jeeps in name only- you get all the flaws in the Caliber, and top it off with horrible gas mileage (for its class) Barely cracking 30 MPG from a compact is just unacceptable, especially given the performance of the cars...

Chrysler Sebring/Dodge Avenger I rest my case. The Avenger actually looks ok, but the Sebring is just a disaster. But I guess rental fleets need a midsize car of some sort...

Smart ForTwo Remind me why anyone would buy this car when you can pick up a roomier, more practical, just as efficient, Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, or Nissan Versa for less money? And premium fuel? Really?
I'm starting to see a trend here.. most of my cars listed are Chrysler products.. I sometimes wonder if the rental car companies should just pool their cash to buy up Chrysler and then just make rental cars to their needs....

Okay, I decided to trade my 2006 Impala that had NO problems for a 2008 Town and Country Touring because I have 4 grandchildren and needed more room. So, I spent alot of $$$$ thinking I was getting a reliable car, boy was I wrong. It was as if I was driving a beater. The car was made in such a shabby way that I no longer enjoy driving the darn thing. It started at the beginning with mostly cosmetic problems. The headlight, mirrors, glass case holder, gps, radio, defroster. I live in Illinois and last winter I had to scrape the inside of the windows to see. But of course, the dealer says they couldn't find any problems. The rear caliber was sticking intermittently, but of course not when they checked it, I took it in 4 times for this and finally demanded that it be taken care of, sure they did, two days later I'm driving and something came off the driver front tire area and came off which rattled around then squeeling, which this time they found nothing again and I was told I must have hit something in the road, I DID NOT, but they now say at 17,000 miles I need front brakes. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Van and I didnt change the brakes until 80,000 miles. I mostly drive expressway and do not use the brakes alot. The heat elements didn't work. The outer quarter panels vibrated and they were falling off which the car had to go to a body shop. I've had that "lemon" in for alot of times... The rental agency even knows me by my first name... I vote for the 2008 Town and Country as being the worst car of 2008 and the most unreliable, safe car I've ever owned. I thought for the money I paid I'd get a better car, how wrong I was.....

I guess with the new ownership they T&C has really slipped in reliability. Not that they ever had a great reputation, but our '03 has been great. Just one trip to the dealer for a bushing covered under warrenty.

We did get the 7/70 they were offering then, were at 5 1/2 years and 62k miles, but it has been so good so far I am not to worried about it implodoing.

It makes me a little sad that Chrysler is running away with the nominations. At one point they were at least very sytlish cars if not the most reliable.

It is kind of sad. Maybe it's because it was the car I learned to drive on, and learned to fix, and was the first car I had to take care of on my own, but my '66 Newport is one I woldn't mind having back. Yes, newer cars are "better" but that Newport was great.

Well, Grandma Schwartz jumped in and made the decision for the Turkey of the Year

A Chrysler product would not have surprised me, but the Pacifica got it last year and the domestics have been getting enough abuse lately

Chrysler minivans... by andre1969

one thing that disappointed me with the latest crop of minivans was the third row seat. Now in the past, one big advantage of a minivan over an SUV or a regular station wagon was a third row that was uncompromised. While most third rows were usually best left for children and contortionists, minivans would usually at least give you a third row that was as comfortable as the second row. So when a minivan claimed seating for 7 or 8, you knew it was 7 or 8 adults, rather than 4-5 adults and 2-3 children or circus dwarves. Not so with the latest Caravan/T&C. Their third rows feel like afterthoughts to me. Thinly padded, short cushions mounted low on the floor, forcing you into a bit of a fetal position.

As slab-sided as the Caravan/T&C are, I thought that would make them feel roomier inside, too, but they just felt small to me. The main reason GM couldn't compete in the minivan segment was because the Venture and its clones were too narrow inside, cutting down on their versatility. But I swear, that same affliction hit the Caravan/T&C
