Do you have a 2009 Honda Hybrid and did you have it done? Did your dealer say if it would negate the warranty in any way if they put in the auto start? Can you tell me your dealer's name and web address or phone number?

Thanks

I just installed an Astrostart remote starter in my 2008 HCH. I live in ND. No problems.. works fine. I asked my dealer to recommend a place to purchase and install.

Premier Audio in Bismarck. $500 installed for the 2-way model with feedback. Very knowledgeable and professional. They've been doing them for years.

I don't know. The Honda dealer recommended them. A lot of cars have them in ND and I've never heard of a warranty problem.

Remote Start on 2009 Camry Hybrid by jrsdriver

I have a remote start on my 2009 Camry Hybrid. I ordered the car equipped with it from the dealer.

It works great! No problem with the fob. The RS is integrated in the fob.

I also have proximity door locks, so, when I approach the car with the fob, not only do the doors open but the car turns itself off. Then, I have to start it again with the Start button. I would prefer it if the car did not turn itself off. After all, the doors open only if one has a key, so the need for security is not served by turning off the engine. However, that is my only complaint. Perhaps Toyota will fix that in future models.

I would disagree, you have told the engine to start, all you need to do is open the door, be shoved away and now someone has your car with the engine started and running.
If you approach your car and the engine is not running, you open the door, they shove you away, they can't start it.
Having the engine stop to confirm you are in safely does make sense. I don't have any problems with it working this way. It does fit with their safety configuration.

I do use my remote start most cool mornings. When I give it a pre-warmup, my AM drive is 5 to 8 mpg better.
