hi, I just bought a 2010 Corolla LE in CA.   base LE + Cruise Control + Keyless = $16800 OTD. I asked the salesperson to throw in a Carpet, he charged me $100. Then it turned out that he did not throw in the trunk carpet, and he refused to do it after I found out. He argued the trunk carpet is a different option from the front&rear carpet (I believe he lies. Please correct me if I get him wrong). Is it fair to get the whole set of carpet for $100?   So $16800 + 100 for carpet = $16900 OTD. (I believe this is not the great deal, but a OK deal) Then I used the $1000 rebate for college, which brings it down to $16900 - $1000 = &15900. I downpaid 10k, then I need to finance about $5900 for a apr5.9%. The tax in CA is 9.25%. The finance guy also mentioned, as a part of Obama's stimulus policy for this year, I can get the tax for the car and registration fee back when I file the income tax for 2009, is this true? The lowest phone/email quote I am getting from NY/NJ dealers for a 2010 Corolla LE is 16,000. I plan to go to the dealership and negotiate for $400 or so lesser than that.   The price quoted includes the $500 cash-back Corolla is giving currently. Features include auto-transmission, all weather guard package, cruise-control, keyless entry, carpet mats - the basics.   Is this a reasonable price or am I being over-quoted ? Please let me know as I want to purchase it while the $500 cash-back is available.   Thanks ! Maya.

Just picked up my Corolla from a dealership in NY and used the AAA Auto Buying Club discount. I was given the dealer invoice (approx. $16,000) and AAA adds just $200 above that. So all in all I think I did very well. My question is I don't see any attachments to put up a cargo net inside the trunk. I happen to have one but it doesn't look like I can use it. That is disappointing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Jan

MY OTD was $16,800. This was with a 2K incentive + 1K for my trade in, and started at invoice. MSRP $20,175. 2009 XLE 4 speed auto w/ 16" wheels, Floor Mats, Keyless entry, AM/FM 6 CD changer Satellite Capable w/ 6 speakers, Cruise control, Power tilt/slide moonroof. I was satisified and thought this was a "good" deal, but I'm not sure and starting to think that there was more room to knock off a bit more. Although most of these post are for LE rather than XLE.   I saw another Atlanta poster earlier that paid 15850 OTD if I remember correctly for an LE. If I compare my OTD price on XLE with sunroof and maybe a couple extra's I'm only $950 higher. (Phoenix, AZ) 2009 Toyota Corolla LE, tinted windows, cruise control, keyless entry, scotch guard/paint protector, spoiler, blue tooth, all weather guard pkg, carpet floor/trunk mats.   Price included the $400 doc fee, tax, plates, $2,000 toyota rebates.
