Gulf States Toyota by bbleous

Hello,

I've been shopping for pricing on Toyota Corollas (S with automatic). I've found a dealer that would sell to me for $1 over invoice. The problem is the invoice pricing on edmuns does not match.

                                              MSRP / Invoice
                                        (per Edmunds)/ (per Edmunds)

Base Corolla S Auto $17250 / $15783

SX - Sport Package $1495/ $1196

CF - Carpet Mats $199/ $126

Destination $720/ $720

Total Costs $ 19664 / $17825

Rebate -$1500

 Invoice minus rebate $16325

The dealer is stating a MSRP of $19719 and invoice minus rebate of $16828. I can deal with the difference in MSRP, but the invoice difference of ~ $500 is difficut to digest.

Does anyone have specific knowledge of Gulf States toyota pricing on a Corolla?

I'll be visiting the dalership tomorrow, and will look at the invoice then.

Are you in a hurry? If not here's my suggestion:
Wait a few days and get quotes from dealers around (closer big cities are the best)
You will be amazed how willing they become

Ditto on the comments by the above poster.

UPSHOT: Keep at it ( do your homework and get it down to 3/5 great deals) and don't burn the bridges.

Sometimes just working with them over time will set up scenarios more to your circumstances. Sometimes just the fact that you have come around or called (more than once) will either put you in the category of PITA looker/tire kicker or what I suspect you are, serious buyer. Just let em know what problems you are trying to solve and you might just be surprised when they actually offer good to great solutions. You can always so no. etc. Just as people brush off salesman, dealerships, etc., turn around is indeed fair play.

I have been surprised on two occasions (actual cars bought) , that absolutely the best deals were the closest (location) oem dealers !!!!

After reading your post, I just negotiated a similar deal for my sister in Orlando.

'09 Corolla LE auto with mats + keyless remote

15,422 OTD

Orlando dealer told me that I would never get this deal from them.

Thanks for the info

Just got a 09 corolla LE auto and only option is stupid floor mat. The OTD is $15500. I have to find all weather floor mat and trunk tray/cargo liner for it. I had a chance to get better deal, but I did not catch it.

In Houston, Texas, bought '09 Corolla LE with: cruise, keyless, tint, floor mats, mud guards, bumper protector, alloy wheels for $16,000 even (rebate included) + TTL + 50 doc fee. OTD is $17,230 with 6.25% sales tax. Do not intent to get the best deal or lowest price but want to know where I stand? Thanks.

Purchased this model today in Phoenix area for $15,500 with following options: AW, CF, CK, CL, EM, FE, KE, LE and VS/VSC. TTL + doc fee ($399) made OTD price $17,468.65. I really wanted the electronic stability control option which was paired with the 16" alloy wheels. The whole transaction was done through internet research, emails, and one telephone call.
