Same car, slightly different problem. Since day 1, AM reception was terrible; but it was continuous, & not related to defroster function.. Dealer replaced antenna isolator module & patch cable from radio to antenna, & problem solved--for about 3 days. Continuing battle since, despite repeated exams during dispute resolution process.. I gave up on the process, but recently a dealer worked on
the wiring in the trunk, looking for a noise source; they found nothing, but after that, AM reception was PERFECT-- for another three days. Now it's intermittently OK; so I'm convinced that the problem is in the antenna isolator module or the associated wiring.

A purchase response from the Mobile-Ease website referred to a Lincoln Special Service Memo titled 4-24-05, describing integral antenna/rear defroster repair, which may address your problem. This referred to Lioncoln TSB 04-24-5, giving more details. The technician said that he thinks the problem is again the need for an isolator module replacement.

I have another appointment with the dealer, & will try to give you a followup. I hope this helps you. Isn't it infuriating how such a 'minor' problem destroy one's experience with an otherwise fine machine?
