#1 of 5 is the 98 the same as the 2000? by johnnybravo300

there wasnt any service manuals printed for the 98 but ive found books on the 2000. are they the same car? can i use the 2000 book?
i hope someone can help.
oh, im having an issue with power at the starter. i dont know if its a fuse or the ignition or what, and im scared to tear into it without a book.

Well, they are highly similar cars, but not exactly the same between the two years. I think they did a little bit of tweaking on the drive train. I doubt it would affect the starter components.

The 98 IIRC has a DOHC engine, by 2000 they had SOHC engines.

mike is correct, they went to the SOHC engines, so some parts are different.
 
The body and most of the car are nearly identical, though. It was only face-lifted for 2001.
