Our family is in the market for a new car and the Prius is on our short list. One consideration that we have is whether or not the family dog that weighs 50 pounds could ride comfortably in the hatchback space? Thank you in advance for your input.

Our black lab never travels in our hatchback unless he's in his dog crate. If it's just one or two of us travelling with him, I slide the crate in the back seat. If it's all three of us, the split fold down seat does the job. But I'd never transport a dog that wasn't in a crate. Better for the dog, better for the car interior. |
