The Toyoguard could be considered stuff.
More like junk, in my humble opinion. Especially the etching and the "sealant" aka wax. Just a Mop & Glow profit center.
And that $599 in dealer fees? What's that all about? Smells like ADA or pure profit.

Toyoguard is a rip off that thay charge in the SE. When I got my 4 runner I had them find me one with out the toyoguard on it. It can be done you just have to tell them if they have one coming in at the port do not put it on. As soon as more Venza's start showing up on the lots you should be able to get one with out the toyoguard and save another $ 699.00

I don't recall that ever being mentioned by any of the four dealers I talked with. Looking over the spec sheet, the car I ordered doesn't seem to have it.
I understand what it is; but is it one of those "embedded" things that they conveniently forget to talk about?

I'm glad I brought this up. Now I know what to look for. Did you pay $599 for a dealer fee? The mats price looks higher than others also. What's that all about? I hate it when dealers add on this crap.
I seriously wonder now if I will purchase a Toyota in the SE now. That dealer is where I get my HL serviced now(bought in the NE). Never liked the way it is run.
It reminds of the days when a dealer would add on a sticker next to the factory sticker with all kinds of pricey add ons. Remember those undercoatings? So I guess nothing has changed, buyer beware, there's a just dealer waiting to rip you off!

I just don't understand why Toyota allows this discrepancy to go on. Especially when we can go Toyota's web site and compare prices.
Why should the same Venza sell for $2000 more than any other area of the country just because of the location you happen to be in. Does Toyota install a heavy duty air conditioner or any other part to make it different than a CAT Venza? I think not. It's all pure dealer gouging as has been shown.
The more customers that are made aware of this the better and maybe SET will wake up if customers demand equality or walk. There are a lot of exciting new vehicles hitting the market so Toyota will need to do a better job in the future. They no longer will have a corner on the market especially with trumped up charges.
