Random guesses should yield an average score of 25%. I couldn't even beat that, getting only the last two answers correct. It seems that I was unusually unlucky for eight questions and incredibly lucky for the last two. American iron seems easier to identify. It's not that these motors aren't dissimilar, just incredibly un-interesting (IMHO).

That's pretty much all I was able to do, was just take random guesses. Somehow I managed 4 out of 10!
I agree too, that it's not that these engines all look alike. But I just have no experience with them. If I grew up with them, and knew what details to look for, I'd probably do better. But also, with American V-8's, it just seems like there's easy little tell-tale signs, like the shape of a Hemi valvecover, or the "sawtooth" edge of a poly, or the scalloped out shape of the 348/409. Or where the distributor is located. Or the angle of the spark plugs, etc.

I probably wouldn't even recognize the CARS they came out of.

Ah, no wonder. Aside from #3 and #9, I couldn't care less if they were all made into Turkish teapots for tourists.

Interesting...I never knew International Scouts used Nissan Diesel engines. I never really knew much about Scouts in general, though.
