Mike,   Since ChryCo is cancelling this vehicle and closing the plant in December, do you have any idea when this is going to be retired? Clearly there aren't going to be many (any?) sold, and it will easily be less than the 1000 projected.   The CSX blog says: "The Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango full-size hybrid SUVs will stop being produced at the end of December... The Durango hybrid trades on the Car Stock Exchange and may face early retirement from trading, too."   SHORT AWAY FOLKS! Replying to: mikedrud (Oct 30, 2008 8:21 am) I think we are going to approximate final sales and then cash this out at the end of December. That's not the final word yet. One thing is certain: this will not "retire" at the end of November.   Just FYI (more info soon).

Sales won't stop just because production does. Hasn't it been reported that Chrysler typically has 150+ days worth of Durangos at any given time? No need to retire it early, I wouldn't think, it will definitely be available on dealer lots for the full six months. If the production was expected to be around 1000, and we all know that SUVs are selling fewer than expected, this is going to come up way short on numbers. There's no way that they'll hit the full 1000. Add that to the fact that Chrysler has pulled the plug, so to speak, on the hybrid in general, I'd bet on production of about 450. Mark my words. Replying to: 57sweptside (Oct 30, 2008 8:45 pm) We won't retire it early, but I agree with 57sweptside, this will probably come up short of the 1,000 unit projection. I'd say around 500, but that's not an official Edmunds project, just my personal thoughts.

The Tahoe Hybrid, for example, sold well under projections without the help of an early plant closure. I wouldn't think anything would need to be done on the Edmunds end of CSX because Chrysler won't sell many Dodge Durango Hybrids.
