Sienna Lift Gate "FIX" created problems

We recently received a recall to "fix" the power lift gate on our 04 XLE Limited. We had experienced no problems, but dutifully took it in. After this "fix" the lift gate opens and immediately closes. One sequence was 7 of 9 tries. When it does stay open there is some LOUD grating (like unlubed rubber grommets). Of course, it behaves properly when we take it back in. Oh! the "fix" was for tail gates that were not staying open. The recall letter said bring it in even if you hadn't had problems. I wish I had not. Should I contact the regional offices?
