I have a 2006 Mini Cooper with 15" wheels. Would 16" wheels from a 2008 "S" fit without modification? Thanks Replies to this message: ltq (Oct 21, 2008 2:47 pm)

Here's what I know about this: Background: Just got a "S" Clubman, has 16" run-flats, no spare. I wanted a spare for 2 reasons: (1) If I get a flat, I need a wheel/tire while the run-flat is being repaired or replaced; (2) Just peace of mind to have a spare on-board anyway. So I got a non-"S" 15" spare from MiniMania. This will fit on all 4 positions of the base Hatch & Clubman, and only on the rear of the "S" models. The "S" front brakes are too large for this spare to clear. If I get a flat on the front, I would swap around so that the 15" temp spare is on the back (should always put temp spares on the back of a front-driver anyway....). The bolt pattern is the same, so 16" wheels should indeed clear the brakes, etc. on your 15" Hatch. The opposite isn't true.

Is there a consensus on whether 17" or 16" wheels with the same type of tires are better in light snow? Thanks
