My 95 BMW 525i with Rust by stephenabelson

I love my car, but on the drivers side door is starting to be a rust issue. I just got the car washed and waxed and it looks gorgeous, except for this blemish of rust color on either side of the door jams, and on the inside of the door. The car runs perfectly, and I only have 133k on it. Starts right up, I'm nervous that my body is gonna go before the actual engine. Any helpful hints on how to cosmetically repair? I'm not sure if touch-up paint is the right thing, or if it will even go over crunchy old rust, or if it will stay on. Does anyone else have this issue with a mid 90's 5er? Any insight would be great, the BMW dealer was a jerk and said it wasn't worth trying to fix.

Take it to a good body shop that works on European cars and see what they say. It's usually hard to get rid of rust once it gains a foothold, but if you are simply dealing with surface rust you should be able to fix it for good.
