Terminating a VW lease due to medical reason by lknprk9

My husband and I leased a 2007 GTI last year. He has recently suffered a seizure and can not allowed to drive for a minimum six months. We would like to terminate the lease but are not sure if VW allows this due to medical reasons. Does anyone know?We are trying to look at all our options including a lease transfer but I just found out that VW will hold us responsible making us co-signers on it. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I wish you husband to get back in a saddle very soon!

One of the options I would strongly recommend to consider is trying to sell your car. Yes, you can sell your leased car. Given that in the case of the early lease termination you are financially responsible for the residual value plus remaining lease payments plus termination fee, your goal would be to offset this amount through the sale price of the vehicle.
