Just don't understand why Dodge woule pull the smaller wheelbase Caravan? In a super-sized world, that was an attractive feature. There was so much room for optimization in that one. Why are Van manufacturers taking away small-van choices from consumers? Look at the Sienna. Not content with the sleek 2000 model, they had to do a one-upmanship on the Honda and supersize it.   Anyone else feel that way too?   Vijay Replies to this message: jpf (Oct 07, 2008 4:37 pm)

Replying to: vbajwa (Oct 01, 2008 12:58 pm) The Dodge Journey replaced the Caravan. I like the smaller van myself and that's why we bought one in 2006. What bothers me more is that you could equip these vans with as much or as little options as you want. Personally, we just wanted a basic van - 4 cylinder engine, automatic, and a/c. No fancy navigation systems, no DVD player, and hand crank windows. The new Journey starts at about $19,000 and comes with a lot of stuff that we don't need. Paid under $16,000 for the Caravan brand new (taxes, license, etc. included), and had the dealer include a bug deflector and window vents. We keep the back seat out of the van all the time so there's lots of space. It's got about 32K miles now. No problems so far. The gas mileage is pretty good. Up to 30-32 MPG on the highway if I drive at a constant speed (say 60 MPH). Around town the mileage is about 24-25 MPG.
