I'd love to exchange information with you. I'm on the fence right now between an 2009 Mazda3 S touring hatch or a 2010 Mazda3 GT.

I like certain things about each one but I have a feeling I won't be able to test drive both before the 09's are sold out.

Just wondering if you'd driven the current 04-09 model and had any personal comparisons.

$1,195 for the Technology Package (Keyless Ignition, Nav, MID and Sirius Radio) sound pretty cheap!

My wife has a 2008.5 GS (2.0L) and I have a new 2010 GT (2.5L) version. We think they're both great but both agree the 2010 GT is a lot more appealing on an raw emotional level. I haven't driven hers too much but from a good 60 km drive we had along some twisties yesterday in the GT I'd say that the GT is noticeably more responsive and entertaining to drive than her GS. Having only about 100 km on the odometer I was basically taking it easy but even so we took most of the curves at over twice the indicated limit without any drama at all, just great zoom zoom, so I'm still far from being familiar with the car's limits. The GT is a more compelling & desirable vehicle, (at least for occasional use), but we've always had a preference for sportier vehicles. For my wife's daily driver/commuter car the GS is better suited with its smaller engine and higher profile tires for our local pot holes. The GT''s more fun though, feels great and damn, does the dashboard and insturments ever look good all lit up at night!

AVI - you should have full details on everything by now. - how much is the destination charge?

By looking at the US pricing press release the 2010 S Sport A/T is priced between the 2009 S Sport A/T and S Touring A/T. Does that look correct to you?

thanks

You know, surprisingly, I do not have full details yet. I have been checking my Mazda Intranet quite regularly so see if they have given us official price sheets including accessories and factory invoice prices, including destination. I would assume destination is $670.

Most every manufacturer that offers a nav system requires you to get every other package first. This is not unique to Mazda.

Let's put this in perspective. $1,195 for a Nav system, MID, keyless ignition and a few other features is damn cheap.

Currently, the moon roof / 6CD changer package costs $890. For another $400 you get a much better sound system made by Bose. Seems more then worth it to me.

Lets look at it this way....what other manufacturer gives you a moon roof, Bose Audio system (or equivalent), nav system, keyless ignition, Sirius radio and a perimeter alarm for $2,590. Most built in nav systems are close to $2,000 alone...
