Here's the thing most folks missed at this year's Detroit auto show: When Bob Lutz was standing on stage with the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, he said it would be the quickest sedan in the world.

Wow- that's a pretty impressive review by Edmunds on the new CTS-V!

Performance like that doesn't just come from hopping up a big engine. It's reflective of a heck of a lot of hard work by dedicated and talented engineers to leap-frog the performance offerings from europe and japan.

The CTS-V isn't in my budget or desire category, but I'm just hoping that enough people will reward the work and talent of the folks at Caddy for creating such a machine. (and then enjoy driving it only every other weekend so as to not use too much fossil fuel).

GM has been producing some highly competitive vehicles in the last couple years, and with a new president soon, perhaps we can be proud of our country again.

Very Fast but AMG still wins the race by 427stingray

Very Impressive. But there's just one thing Inside Line is missing... CTS-V might be faster than the AMGs & M5, but it doesn't come close in terms of prestige. And that's also important to a person looking for a Luxury Sports Sedan. I would definitely buy one, but I'd feel stupid seeing a CLS63 pull up next to me. Yeah i could smoke him (by a tenth) but his ride is cooler and frankly more well known and respected.

I'm great enthusiast of CTS and XLR design ...
I sugest to put this power into new skin of CTS
why they didnt prepare this power for a new design of CTS )I think 2008 model lokkks better than 2006....

I think this is what american producers should do....Muscle cars...that should be their goal...
make a retro-Muscle machines, let the world meet unlimited maschines

Yeah, but the CLS63 will be $100K and the CTS-V will be $65K.
So, I can't argue with the mercedes offering more prestige.

A Bently will offer even more pre$tige.
