Does anybody know how hard it would be to upgrade the instrument cluster in my 99 2.2L Cavy to a newer style out of a later year cavy? It's an automatic but it would be nice to have a tach just for the heck of it.

Well to do this I had to change the dash to the 2000+ style and change the mounting bar for the dash to that style also which was no biggy, about 45 minutes of work. Now I just have to splice the newer connector into the old for the cluster but I'm having trouble locating the wiring diagram for the 2000-2005 cavaliers. I may just wait and change out the entire wiring harness when I do the ecotec swap unless anyone has the wiring diagram for this style car.

If you swap out a instrument cluster from another car, you also have to use the engine computer, body control module and ignition switch all from the same car that the cluster came from. This is what i was told from a guy that rebuild salvage title cavaliers and sunbirds
