After stocks retire, we can no longer buy or sell. Nowhere in the Help section does it mention anything about shorted stocks when Retirement rolls around. Suppose upon retirement I have shorted stock in my portfolio. Since I can't buy the stock back (cover), I lose everything, correct? In fact, I'd be in debt. JULY 31: Shorted YUKh at $30. AUG 31: Retirement comes and YUKh is retired. SEP 03: Edmunds software calculates YUKh to be $5.94 per share. AFTER SEP 03: Since I can no longer buy stock, I cannot buy YUKh at $5.94 to cover my initial short sale. Is this scenario correct? Or does my short sale in YUKh get automatically covered on 03 SEP?
