Need some info on the ride and mileage you are getting on the new Aveo5.

Hi,
Yes, I have an '09 LS. Quite honestly, it reminds me of so many other cars just like it in the past and that isn't a bad thing. I can only say good things about it at this point. My only question is that it seems to run a little warm. I guess this is typical of newer cars. Still, this is my first "off the lot" new car since '79 and I'm still jazzed about that!
I'm looking forward to sharing this Aveo experience from day one.

Well, by warm I mean that the temp gage goes to center in about 2 miles of driving and stays at or slightly under there for the rest of the trip.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that since it's consistent but this is the first car I've had that warms up so quickly. I was just curious if this was normal.

Here goes...
I'm 6'2" but 180. The only car I ever had much trouble with head room-wise was the mid-70's excuse for a Mustang. The Aveo is very easy to get in and out of.
At 55, getting out of a low car starts to be a strain (doesn't it?) but no problem with my Aveo.
I imagine that goes for previous years so nothing special there.
Inside, it's just about as roomy as you'd want. But I find my right knee resting against the side of the center stack. Back seat room is a little more generous than even some mid-sized cars. Flip and fold back seat is cool... for us because we have dogs who travel with us, the flipped up seat provides a fine barrier to keep them back there. Roll out a $9 carpet from wally-world, and that helps the hair clean-up later.

Mileage is right in the advertised zone. My lead foot is the defining factor in any short fall.

I drive a much larger vehicle during the day and I find myself wishing I could get more seat time in the Aveo.

Honestly, it has just a little better power than a 250CC scooter but it has a lot more top end.
What else can I tell you? The Aveo suits us just fine.
We have the LS so there is nothing extra to drag the system down.

Now, I'm looking for some kind of deck/bumper protector for the hatchback as some day, we'll put something in the back that won't be paint friendly.

I've done searches and there is nothing appropriate yet. Yaris had something like this as an option but I'm looking to cover to the top curve of the bumper.
Any suggestions out there?

They make that body plastic protector stick on material that people put on the front of their hoods and fender areas to protect against stones, bugs.

There's a thought, thanks! Perhaps an adaptation of those "clear bras."

You can add dealer installed AC for arround $1,500. It is the exact same AC in the Aveo LT and is covered by the bumper to bumper warranty also.
