I wish I could say that I was surprised about her response being just a regurgitation of the same thing the GM customer service people said to both of us before - beyond your warranty blah blah blah.

I still have yet to get any response. Wish I could say I was surprised about that.

I read an interesting point on an internet post about these issues...going to look up the source and post it in a future thread...but the person who wrote it was pointing out the fact that GM's position is that their bankruptcy filing disposed of the class action lawsuit and any responsibilities they had to Saturn owners with these horrible dangerous transmissions. That is tantamount to saying they would honor or pay other warranties on other vehicles purchased before their bankruptcy filing but not on the Saturns. You can't pick and choose which of your creditors you will pay or not when you file bankruptcy - you have to include (or dispose) of them all.

GM is not doing that. Chevy and Cadillac and Buick and all the rest who purchased before their bankruptcy filing in 2009 are not disallowed. Their warranty claims are being honored.

This situation is holding me hostage. I am not going to go quietly. Whatever I can do I am going to do it. Contacting an attorney as well.

Please keep me posted and I will do the same. This isn't right to do business this way.

Sarah,

I sent this information to you directly on Monday morning. Why haven't I gotten a response?

Good evening kimber0412,

I apologize for the delayed response time; incoming emails from the forum go to my coworker Christina and, at times, the inbox can get quite full. I will ask her about whether or not she has received your email, and I thank you for your patience. She will be back in the office at 8 am EST tomorrow morning.

All the best,
Sarah

Sarah,

I checked my in box off and on all day today. No reply from either you, Christina, or anyone else at GM/Saturn customer care or any loosely affiliated company/service.

I would like you to address my concerns IMMEDIATELY. The last eight of my vin are 5S817774.

I never got anywhere with GM and I didn't want to buy another vehicle made by them so I bought a Hyundai. They have a great warranty. I still have the Vue and I am waiting for it to quit. We don't take it out of town anymore because we don't want to be stranded. So has anyone tried replacing the engine with an engine from a later model Vue? Is something like that even possible?

I just bought this vehicle from a dealer, it has 71k miles. I am worried about some issues with the transmission and more so after reading this forum.

Around 30-35mph the vehicle shudders and sometimes it bucks. This is very annoying for city driving! Sometimes at higher speeds I see the issue as well, generally RPM is around 1500. I've never had a vehicle that didn't want to cruise at a steady speed.

Fortunately I am still under the dealer (non GM) 90 days and according to my.gm.com it says I have time left on my powertrain warranty.

So will a transmission flush help or does it need some service by my local Chevy dealer?

Sounds like you have the Honda V6 engine. What you describe are the EXACT same symptoms we had on our Vue and is the Torque Converter.

There should be a recall for your car through GM. Basically it reprograms the ECU to engage the TQ at a different RPM than compared to the stock program. Take it to a Chevy Dealer that is authorized to work on Saturns and have them perform the reprogram. It should show up when they run your vin number. This should be free to you. I would suggest that you also have your fluid changed at that time as well. These need to be changed more often than what GM recommends in the manual. I think this will take care of your issue for a while but I would definitely do this at a GM dealer to get it documented for any issues that may pop up down the line.

Good afternoon jdanler,

If you do decide to work with your dealership to get this looked into, please keep us updated on what they find. Also, we can check for any open recalls if you were to send the last 8 of your VIN our way to socialmediagm.com
We're here to help if you should need us!

Best,

I have a 2007 with 72K. Saturn had a torque converter recall that fixed my shutter. Find out if your vehicle has had that done. Oh, I'm now dealing with a leaking rear main..... Which others have had... Do your self a favor, it they go in for the torque converter, have them just install a new rear main seal...
