Replying to: lawstud (Dec 17, 2008 10:34 pm) It seems that V8 maybe redundant. if V6 does 6.1/6.2 seconds and V8 does 5.6/5.7 seconds... that's just .5 second difference.   However, V8 only cost $2,000 more if you op for the whole thing. Also, V8 at 60mph will have lower rmp. I really like low rmp highway cruising. however, V6 probably cruises like that. My Azera 3.8 Limited does 2,400+ rpm at 73mph.   I can't wait to get hands on Genesis. It seems like the winner. Either Genesis and G8 offers great value for the money. They both have very unique characteristics.

I loved alot of the options but man stiff ride! and it is a hyundai. torn between it Maxima & CTS gas mileage is my issue and ride. I drive alot of miles 25k last year. any advice appreciated. Replying to: nissanou812 (Mar 31, 2009 5:36 pm) I broke down and pulled the trigger and purchased the Genesis w/ tech for 36,500. I feel strongly about the deal got the 2.9 for 60 months and the sapphire blue/brown leather. so far so good....will keep everyone updated.

I test drove a 4.6 with tech the other day. Asked them to give me their best offer... Here is the garbage that I got back... First, they told me that their lease rates were horrible right now and there were no incentives on the car. Then they tell me that they'll give me the internet special for $1250 off MSRP. 72 months at 5% interest or some garbage like that for a payment of $720 per month.   I proceeded to tell him that now that they are dealing with customers that are normal, Acura, BMW, Lexus, etc customers that we're a little more savvy than their normal customer. Told him to call me when he wanted to actual sell a car instead of trying to rape a customer. Talk about lies..... Give me a break. These were phone calls in response to e-mails, except for one at local dealership.    It may be a regional supply thing as they do not seem to be moving very many aroundhere.    Yes, bobad, I am still interested in purchasing a Genesis once I am confident the suspension/ride will not be an issue.

The deal:   $36,845 Purchase Price $ 2,580 NJ 7% Sales Tax $ 375 NJ 4 yr registration/plates/title $39,800 Total   This car replaces an Acura RL. I am impressed with the fit and finish, smooth V8 power, incredible sound system, easy to use Nav, intuitive controls. I also like the firm ride that others seem to find uncomfortable. Hope it has the durability I have enjoyed from Honda.
