in a lexus Forum

This thread isn't in a Lexus exclusive forum. This is a shared thread located between Hyundai Genesis and Lexus GS forum, as it is so titled Lexus GS vs. Hyundai Genesis. It can also be located from a few other areas.

Lol

If that's the basis of comparison , I think the Hyundai (XXXXXXX) has more similarities with the other 300 , More over they have similar pricing and dicounts( cash backs)

A 3.8L Genesis weighs 3748 lbs.
A Chrysler 300 Signature Series 3762 Lbs

A Genesis is 195.9in long
A Chrysler 300 Signature Series 196.8

A Genesis has a 115.6 in wheelbase
A Chrysler 300 Signature Series 120.00

A Genesis 3.8 MSRP $32250.00
A Chrysler 300 Signature Series $ 32765.00

A Genesis 3.8 Passenger Volume 109..4 Cu.ft
A Chrysler 300 Signature Series Passenger Volume 106.6 Cu.ft

even the caravan has a wheel base of 121 and overall length of 202

doesn't this whole comparison sound unrealistic.
Lets not compare apples with oranges just for the sake of comparison

Did you even read what Jeff wrote in his post? By the way, discounts are hard to come by on the Genesis, at least currently in most places and for Hyundai standards. Actually, most of the luxury cars right now have HUGE discounts and special financing rates, 5-7K in this class (mid-to-large luxury sedan) is easy to find.

While you may think Genesis vs. Lexus comparo is unrealistic, others share different opinions. Edmunds certainly thought the Genesis was a worthy competitor, as has other professionals and consumers.

Enjoy your Lexus.

Really? Last I checked, that is false.

It is false. The Chrysler 300 has never had a 3.8L engine. It's a 3.5 or 2.7 (in the V6s.)

I'm glad you enjoyed your laugh, however it was you that set forth the comparison criteria, not me.

I was simply putting some hard numbers to your off the cuff remarks. I'm sorry that you feel the need to justify your Lexus purchase by putting down another model that it competes with. Most of the products that Lexus puts out are very fine autos on their own merit.

A badge does not mean superiority however. I would also like to take a stab here that you have never been in or driven a Genesis. If that is true it sure makes it hard to give much credit to your ramblings.

Anyway, again, enjoy your Lexus. I'm sure it is a fine automobile. But really, what is the point of trashing a product that you know nothing about?

One last thing. If you had ever been in both a Genesis and a 300, you would know what a poor comparison they really are. The Genesis is head and shoulders above the 300 in terms of interior appointments and ride/quiet. The Genesis is much more like a, um, let me see here, oh yeah, a Lexus.

That's still wrong information. I used to have a 300M and the 3.5L V6 does not have 3.78 liters displacement. You're thinking of the 2.7; otherwise, why wouldn't Chrysler have just referenced it as 3.8 liters?? No manufacturer is going to round down their engine sizes. Chrysler does have a 3.8 in it's minivans and some other vehicles, but NOT in the 300.

Please Refer to the Chrysler 300 Page with Tech Specs on their updated Site with current info.- select Signature Series
Engine - Displacement - Bore [in] 3.78 (signature series RWD aka 3.5)
