Comparison Test: 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 vs. 2008 Lexus GS 350 - Hyundai isn't shy about its targets for the Genesis. "While Genesis will compete for customers with cars like Lexus ES, Chrysler 300 and Cadillac CTS," the company stated in a press release about the car's pricing, "Genesis' performance capabilities and luxury features are comparable to sedans costing tens of thousands of dollars more." Not hard at all to understand. Perception takes a long time to change. Are you forgetting how it took decades for Honda and Toyota to change their perception? I guess I'll just have to be one of the the lonely people who went against the the popular trend and bought a Hyundai. I sure hope I don't regret it. Yeah, that was sarcasm. It beat up on my last Hyundai. I skipped oil changes and timing belt replacements for thousands of miles. I drove it like I stole it all the time, and, yet, it never failed me and was still running strong with just under 200,000 miles. I now own my 2nd Hyundai, and it has proven to be a just as good of a car. Sorry, bud. I don't need your propaganda. How bout we stick specifically to Genesis-related topics. There are general forums where you can try to convince everyone why Brand X is so much better than Brand Y. This isn't the place. |

I myself was looking at a 2009 Maxima or Accord to comfortably fit my family of 4, be assuring, with all available options, be sporty. I think I got more that all that I can get in a maxima or accord. I even got it at a bargain $ 30150.00 + TTL. and everyone was looking at it for the few miles I drove. It never felt this good in a new Car. As far as the comparison with Lexus or BMW is concerned I dont Care if its even better , good or worse than them because I was not even thinking of these makes. The only luxury car thought of was a mercedes C class purely because it was in the price range around $32500.00. I am happy I got a larger car and more options than a C Class and with more warranty. |

In other words this is one of those what's better than what discussions, so yes, it does happen to be the place. It would be nice to keep it confined to those two vehicles, though. We need to work harder at that.

Replying to: pat (Sep 15, 2008 3:14 pm) Hard to understand why ?" How can this be interpreted as having anything to do with a Genesis and GS350 comparison? I would love to discuss comparisons of the [GS350] and [Genesis], if given the opportunity.

Replying to: satyarg (Sep 15, 2008 11:57 am) satyarg, I never once said that a Genesis was better than a lux segment car (or any other car for that matter), and I never said that there was anything wrong with you, or anyone else, owning ANYTHING. What I said was that it seemed as though you were trying to justify the extra cash that these cars cost simply based on name. That's it. I actually even said (and will say again) that Lexus products are generally very good and stand on their own merit. Just to throw it in, I think that BMW products are excellent products as well. I simply do not believe that it makes any sense to get all riled up and attack a new car coming into the market that is in the ballpark of the "upper crust" at a more friendly price point. If you liked your cars when you bought them, and still enjoy them now, then that is all that matters. Lastly, when did I post my net worth on this forum? Thanks to everyone for indulging me, and I hope you all have a great week.

as I read jeffreid's post I was thinking, humm, someone's gonna miss this guy around here. And look what you posted to verify those thoughts! And I don't even visit this particular thread that often, either. |

Now if they could just get the V8 cars to the dealership lots. |
