I have an 02 Avalanche that has developed leaks in the transfer case. I have 3 now that are on the sides and top of the case. They appear to be pinholes in the casting. I have around 75000 highway miles with little 4wd use. My dealer wants 1350.00 to replace the case.. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this common with the Avalanches?? Replying to: gspeaker (Aug 13, 2008 2:54 pm) I just had the same failure and yes It has to be a design flaw ! That sucks! My dealer in baton rouge wants 1850.00 to change it out. What choicedo I have. I am 2000 miles out of warranty. I don't dont what we can do though. I guess were just stuck.
