hey, Have a 99 alero that stalls on turns and at stops at times. but starts right back up, it usually hesitates be fore it dies, please help , have read it could be the catalytic coverter stopping up....?

im having the same issue...the car kinda shakes and at stops it stalls and dies...if u give it a couple of minutes and let it cool...it starts up for a couple of more minutes. plus there is a loud whining coming from someone under the car towards the back of car. Info:99 alero v6 3400. 130k miles.

Sounds like the fuel pump to me, with your mileage and description of the problem it wouldn't be a surprise.

My 99 alero had the same problem. I cleaned the connection from the battery at the under hood fuse box and no more stalling. It was very corroded. Disconnect and wire brush. Time: 5 min. cost: free.
