This happens intermittently and only in the warmer weather. Vehicle has 62,000 miles on it and in 9/08 replaced all 4 tires, wheel bearings, ball joints, etc. - very expensive repair. Started making this sound again last week. While accelerating up a hill with A/C on and RPM's go over 2,000 the engine starts making a noise that sounds like it's coming from the right front of the vehicle. The noise increases to the point that the engine sounds like it's going to blow up. I pull over and when I come to a complete stop (with the engine still running) the noise shuts off. Could it be a sensor related the RPMs/shifting that resets itself once I stop? Does not happen all the time and my mechanic thought it was related to the tires, and all the items I had replaced. Any thoughts or anyone else experience anything like this? Thanks. |
