So sang Joe Walsh in his 1978 classic, "Life's Been Good." Should Mr. Walsh find himself in a 2009 Maserati Quattroporte S, he might be losing his license all over again, because the Quattroporte S is the most powerful four-door Maserati ever. First Drive: 2009 Maserati Quattroporte S

"Spot a BMW 7 Series going down the road (if you notice it at all), and you'll think, "Oh, a 7 Series." Spy a Quattroporte S as it trumpets past, and you'll think, "Sweet, a Maserati." Exactly. Everything in this price range is so close in performance, luxury, etc. Why in the world would you not get the Maserati instead of yet another 760, S63, etc.?

The world's most beautiful sedan? I don't think so! Honestly, I'm not impressed by the Maserati Quattroporte S's exterior styling at all.....I think it's ugly! Yes, I prefer the S-Class and Audi's sedans, as well as the Rolls Royce Phantom and Bentleys. And all these will outdo it in terms of performance. It's the interior styling that I really like. Call me a crazy guy, but I like my Mercedes and Bentleys better.

I'm not so impressed after test driving the Maserati. Did I miss anything? What's the difference between Ferrari and Maserati? btw, I drive a bmw 7.
