Volvo XC70 2004 Service Message

I live in a very small rural area, the nearest Volvo service center is 4 hours away so the car is serviced locally. No one in town has the gadget that resets the service message...it always reads "Time for Regular Service". It's annoying because I can't access any of the other information. Does anyone know of a trick to override this setting? Thanks...Linda
