Mitsubishi is going to race a Super Production Lancer dubbed "Racing Lancer" in the 2009 Dakar. The Rally vehicle will be powered by a 3.0L diesel engine, and the body shell will be modeled from the "Concept-Sportback", which is also the base concept vehicle for the Lancer Sportback, and the Lancer Sportback Ralliart to be released in Europe and subsequently in the US.     Full article: http://paxtech.blogspot.com/2008/07/mitsubishi-introduces-new-racing-lancer.html- - -

Mitsubishi is to debut their latest rally machine, the MRX09 Racing Lancer in the upcoming 08 Baja Portalegre/Portugal, in preparation for the 09 Dakar. Replying to: rcpax (Aug 23, 2008 8:48 am) Looks like a fun little rig to run around in the desert with. It will not be long before diesels dominate all racing. They own Le Mans now. just the fact that they only have to haul half as much fuel is very big.

Replying to: steve_ (Jan 21, 2009 10:44 am) VW Audi diesels are winning every kind of race they choose to enter. I can't wait for them to enter a diesel in Indy and take home the gold from Honda. Diesel is just superior fuel for whatever you drive.
