I have a 2006 liberty that I bought a Thule "spare me" spare tire mounted bike rack for. Amazing rack, fits the liberty well, even though most fit guides say it's not available for this vehicle. However, I just bought 5 procomp series 97 rims and put 235/70r16 tires on. Slightly wider than the 225's from factory, and now my mount doesn't fit. I have tried finding the answer through online Thule dealers, and Thule themselves, but have not found a way to retrofit this mount with a wider tire. I have seen Wranglers with wider tires than mine using this mount. So, I was wondering if anyone with wider tires who has this mount on a wrangler, fj cruiser, rav 4 or anything knows how to make this mount fit again? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
